Safe in Managua!

Hey everyone just wanted to let you all know that we for over to Managua safely today! After landing we checked into our hotel and then went and had lunch at Mcdonalds! It was great and then we took the team to see the volcano here in Managua. It's a really cool experience and something that you don't typically see back home! We're currently hanging out at a pizza hut for dinner before we head back to the hotel and have our trip debrief! Once we start traveling tomorrow well be posting quick travel updates on the Granger Student Ministries Facebook page! This team has done amazing things this week and you should be extremely proud of them. Just one helpful tip for re-entry, let them sleep for 32 hours and then they'll be readyto tell you all about the trip! :)

I am so proud of all of you... your generosity of spirit, physical acts and money are an example to all of us!

  4. So glad to hear that you're on your way back home. I'm so proud of you, Dalton, Hannah, Nathan, and everyone else I've known since you were in elementary school. Thanks johnny, jeff, katie, huff and all you leaders for taking this week off and spending it motivating our teenagers and helping them take their next step toward Christ!

You all amaze me with your hearts and desire to show others the love of Jesus. I pray that this trip changes your heart and you won't soon forget the memories. Can't wait to see you Dalton!

  5. I am so happy that all of you got to experience this amazing trip. It's crazy how much we have in our everyday lives that we take for granted isn't it? Such as clean drinking water. You were all on this trip for a reason. God called you to this and everyone of you did an incredible jod serving him. Now as you make yor journey back do not forget what you have experienced this trip. When I say that I mean do not just go back to the life you were long before you went to Nicaragua. Continue on lovig as how you loved in Nicaragua. Giving your all to Christ and serving him with everything you've got. The hardest thing in my opinion for a Christian man or women is to express how they really feel about Chris Infront of your peers that may not feel the same way. It may be difficult at times to be a Christian. But step out of thy comfort zone. Love Jesus with all you've got at all times. Share the love and compassion that Jesus shares with us everyday. Let the light or him shine through you like it did in this last week. Show everyone that you serve an everlasting God who will be there for us for eternity. The love you showed the kids in the orphanage. Take that love and share it everywhere you go and with everyone you meet. In Luke 10:27 it says "love the lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, an with all your mind." live by this passage everyday. You are all amazing. I can't wait to see yo when you get back! Have a safe trip

    Samantha,
May God fill you and your team with his grace, love, and strength upon your return to Granger. You have welcomed Christ into your hearts by sharing His love with the orphans at Puerto Cabezas. Mark 9:37 says, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."
Cherish the final days with your team in preparation for the great work to be done here. I am reminded of this very notion through one of my favorite praise songs, "God of This City." Please listen to the lyrics at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_6anxxNLWA&feature=related.

    Verse 1
You're the God of this City
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
    You are

    Verse2
You're the Light in this darkness
You're the Hope to the hopeless
You're the Peace to the restless
    You are

There is no one like our God
There is no one like our God

    Chorus
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this City
Greater thing have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done HERE.

Samantha, I love and miss you very much! I wish I could be there to pick you up on Sunday morning, but as John said, you probably won't be very talkative anyway. I hope you enjoyed Pizza Hut and stayed away from the wings:! Hugs and kisses, Alex:)
    Love always,
    Mom O.

  7. Hey Beth, so glad you and everyone made it safely to Managua. I'm super excited that I'll be able to see you soon even if it is only for a little while before you pass out for 32 hours. I hope the airports are quick and everything runs smoothly for you all. Hopefully you recover quickly so we can hang out but even if you are still tired cuddling doesn't take much energy. Sending my thoughts to you and everyone. Hopefully you'll be able to get some sleep on the plane or bus. See you soon babe! Miss you!
