Tuesday Recap

Today was the teams 2nd workday and they got AFTER IT AGAIN!! The team building the stilt house finished the entire floor up this morning and this afternoon we began framing up the walls! We got one completely done and got it set and will finish framing up tomorrow!  The other team continued siding their house and made some great progress and that house is almost ready for the roof!

This evening then we had a BIG pizza party with all the kids and just like the ice cream party, the power went out! We had a generator for lights in the church but the restaurants generator ran out of gas which meant half the pizzas were delayed until they could get it running again.  The team jumped in though and entertained the kids and had all kinds of fun until pizzas were rolling out again.  It was a great evening and was capped off by the greatness of the power coming back on which means everyone got showers!!!

Another big workday tomorrow!

    Filipenses 4:6-7

  2. GSM Nicaragua.

I'm currently in India. We were fortunate enough to come across some wifi in a hotel that we get to stay in for tonight (thank you LORD!) and I wanted to check up on how things are going in the western hemisphere. I cannot stress to you enough how appealing pizza is to me right now..even delayed pizza. People keep bringing up Chipotle and Urban Swirl over here and I don't think it's good for my mind to be held in torturous captivity by the thought of such delicacies.

I'm not entirely sure if John reads these posts to you, but, to all the kingdom catalysts and warriors: intentionally look for Christ in all that you do. Do not be blinded by expectations that you may have had that are not met and allow that to be an obstruction to finding the joy of Jesus in the little things. GO HARD and remember that the glory alone belongs to Jesus Christ our Lord. Rise up people of God and stay strong!

    Love you all,
    Riley

  10. HEY TEAM!
I seriously love all the pictures so much! The joy you are bringing to those kids is so obvious in their beautiful smiles. I believe you are having a greater impact then you even know! Great job building those houses! They look like they're coming along very nicely! Keep working hard! I'm praying for strength, energy and perseverance as I can imagine a lot of you are getting a little tired and worn out. You're doing great! keep it up!
Cecelia Coyne- I just talked to Jordan, potty training Noah is not going so hot...he's not grasping the concept very well. Poor kid.
Olivia Michelle- I realized today that you and I haven't really seen each other AT ALL this summer. which is really odd considering I was over at your house almost every day last year. so come home so we can have a long over due sleepover.
    Love and miss you all!

Team Nicaragua: Continuing to pray for you. God woke me up last night with you on my heart. Prayed for you till I went to sleep again; first thing on waking up and throughout the day as usual. May you be filled with more than you need of Gods gifts.

    You all are phenomenal!!

Lipp you are a camera magnet, lookin' good dude but I think your hairdo is wilting.

It cooled down enough we are able to have the windows open without becoming a sweat puddle. Nice for a change.

  16. I am so proud of all of you. Sometimes we are like the power down there. Sometimes we just forget what we are suppose to be doing and we shut down. Then, God breaths life into us again through trips like Nicaragua or helping a child or anything that glorifies Him, and all the sudden our energy is back and the light comes back on in our hearts. May you never forget the presence of God that you are sensing on this trip. Proud to be a part of this community of Christ called Granger Community Church!

  17. Emily and Olivia we miss you like crazy and I can't wait to wrap my arms around you and embrace your sweetness when you get home. Continue this precious work you were called there to do. Remember when the lights go out it may just be Gods reminder to you to let your light shine by being a positive leader. Even when you become exhausted or miss home remember God is building your endurance to serve Him. It's not always easy and the race is a long one. We are all on this journey together. Stay strong girls and "remember who you belong to". I love you, Mom
